Your job for getting a free ranking: You provide WT and Associates with the following information and you will receive your score. Based on a 100 point scale: Regions ranked 92 or higher should plan, and probably launch an R and D initiatives and submit proposals in the focus area. Regions/centers scoring from 80-92 should conduct a needs assessment and improve deficiencies in certain areas before proceeding further.  Regions , universities or centers ranked below 80 should look to other initiatives.

 We provide rankings based on our selected variables as  amount and quality of funded research (citations by researchers at lead university), extent of  technology transfer,(patents, patent-license ratios and spin offs at identified university), dollar amount of licenses, regional strengths and weaknesses as: place to do business, quality of life, health, environment, median educational level, availability of venture capital, economic development, risk taking. WT and Associates uses such sources as AUTM, Chronicle of Higher Education, NSF Caspar , NCHS-Hanes, Economic indicators, Nanoforum, and leading research organizations, such as Milken, Pew Foundation, and clearinghouses as  NTIS.
